Dor Le'Dor,
A NEW WAY in Israeli society
The city of Tel-Aviv is considered to be young and vibrant. It is the cultural and business heart of Israel, and attracts young people from all over Israel who come to work, study, live and enjoy themselves. However, the comparative ratio of senior citizens in Tel-Aviv is higher than in other cities in Israel. 15% of the city's population is above the age of 65. At least a quarter of the senior citizen group, which comprises of 15,000 elderly persons, live on their own, and a similar number has reported having feelings of loneliness.

Renewing the generational connection
The B'nai Zion Pre-military Academy - The Israeli Academy for Leadership Tel Aviv
"The senior citizens are detached from society, while the young people are detached from their common past and history. The senior citizens are our living legacy. They are the ones that have fought for us and they are the ones we tell stories of. We hope to bring about a real social change that will render Dor le'Dor unnecessary. (Yaniv Moran, university student and Dor le'Dor volunteer)
Dor le'Dor is a social organization founded in 2008 by the Pre-Military Academy Program B'nai Zion - The Israeli Academy for Leadership Tel Aviv. The organization's goal is to bridge the generational gap within Israeli society. We believe that this connection will be achieved through personal interactions between elderly and young people, and that these interactions will be mutually beneficial. We have chosen to begin the project in Tel-Aviv, hoping that it will serve as a "light tower" for other cities that will join the project.
Dor le'Dor works in conjunction with the Municipality of Tel-Aviv, the Israeli National Insurance Agency, Reut-Eshel and the student unions of Tel-Aviv University and Seminar Ha'Kibutzim College.
We invite you to join us.
Make a difference.
Make a connection.
Be a link in the chain of generations.
